Where does this ranking come from and why is it worth trusting?
Forbes Advisor is one of the leading English-language business and technology advice services, read by millions of entrepreneurs, executives and IT professionals around the world. Forbes Advisor analyzed 30 CRM platforms and evaluated 53 features that really affect the daily work of sales teams. The authors then personally tested the top candidates before awarding final grades.
The ranking is created annually and is based on objective criteria - not on the popularity of the brand, not on the marketing budget, but on value, functionality and the ratio of opportunities and price. This is a confirmed, independent assessment of one of the most influential business websites in the world. And the results are surprising and instructive.
Zoho CRM: why again in the first place?
Zoho CRM got the highest score out of all the systems evaluated - 4.9 out of 5 stars and additionally received the “Best Value for Money” badge. Forbes Advisor highlights that Zoho delivers enterprise-class functionality at affordable prices - accessible to both small businesses and growing organizations.
Key Strengths of Zoho CRM
- Exceptional value for money: Zoho CRM Enterprise costs $40 per user per month - while Salesforce Sales Cloud Enterprise is $175 and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise is $105. Zoho doesn't restrict access to key features on lower plans.
- Extensive automation: Workflows, macros, custom features, automatic lead assignment - available from lower plans, without having to reach for the most expensive package.
- AI built into everyday work: Zia's native assistant analyzes sales data in real time: identifies priority leads, detects anomalies in the funnel, predicts the risk of losing a customer and recommends next steps. In 2026, Zoho released Zia Agent Studio, a tool for setting up your own AI agents automating specific sales roles.
- Deep personalization: The Canvas tool allows you to design the look and layout of the CRM interface without knowing the code. Modules, fields, views, and processes can be customized to the specifics of each industry.
- Scalability: The platform works both in teams of several people and in organizations with hundreds of traders - it can be expanded gradually, as the company grows.
- Integration with the Zoho ecosystem: CRM is part of a suite of more than 55 business applications spanning finance, HR, marketing, projects and analytics - all in one environment, without juggling dozens of independent tools.
- Rich marketplace: More than 1000 integrations with external systems, including ERP, e-commerce, instant messaging and marketing tools.
- Fast Deployment: Zoho claims 50% faster deployment time than the competition, and simple navigation shortens the learning curve for new users.
Another distinction for Zoho CRM
It is worth adding that Forbes Advisor is not the only prestigious source that has appreciated Zoho CRM. Nucleus Research - an analytics firm known for its rigorous ROI assessment methodology - placed Zoho CRM in the Leader category in the SFA Technology Value Matrix 2026 report, describing the platform as a solution combining “depth of functional coverage, process enforcement and configurability with a focus on usability to support rapid adoption.”
What about other CRM systems in the ranking?
Few results may surprise, especially those accustomed to marketing hype around the most popular brands.
Bitrix24 - position #7 in the ranking. The distinction in the “Best for Analytics” category is basically the only thing Forbes Advisor praises him for. The biggest drawbacks are the cost and technical support. Consumers complain about poor customer service and technical problems. And in fact - the rate of negative technical support reviews on Capterra reaches 56%, and the rating on Trustpilot is only 2.2/5 - mainly due to the unavailability of the helpdesk. Repeated errors in automations and delays with larger datasets are also reported. For companies that need efficient CRM above all else, Bitrix24 is overpaying for features they will never configure.
Monday.com - position #8 (Best for Startups and New Teams): Monday CRM is a CRM overlay for the work management platform - flexible and simple at the start, but with limited functional depth in the area of advanced sales. It works relatively well for small teams and startups that do not yet need the full capabilities provided by mature CRMs.
HubSpot - position #9 - and this is one of the most telling results of the entire ranking. HubSpot, which has one of the highest recognitions in this category, took a place behind eight other platforms, including much less media ones. The reason? Forbes Advisor assesses value to the user, not marketing spend. HubSpot seems intuitive and convenient at the start, but its advanced plans are very expensive (Enterprise up to $1,200 per month), and the depth of functionality - especially in terms of automation, reporting and customization - clearly sets it apart from the leaders. Nucleus Research classified HubSpot as a Core Provider, not a Leader - highlighting the distinctly weaker functional depth.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM closes the top 10 with the qualification “Best for Microsoft Users” - and this label says it all. Forbes Advisor praises the consistency of integration with Microsoft tools, but outside of this environment, the platform loses most of its edge and turns into an expensive implementation with a long timeline and a steep learning curve. Outside of the Microsoft context - or without a dedicated IT team to set up and maintain - it's just expensive and difficult to use CRM. Enterprise is priced at $105 per user per month (for comparison: Zoho CRM Enterprise is $40), and key AI features are a paid add-on; marketing, customer service, and a portion of advanced analytics require the purchase of separate modules.
Salesforce - Beyond the Top 10: Salesforce is a platform that presents a great challenge in implementation and adoption. Forbes Advisor excluded it from the top ten primarily because of its high complexity, steep learning curve and price, which makes it difficult to access for companies without a dedicated IT team and a large implementation budget. Salesforce Enterprise costs $175 per user per month and requires a significant investment in setup and maintenance.
Pipedrive - Beyond the Top 10: Pipedrive is a clear view of the pipeline and ease of onboarding - a relatively good choice for small sales teams that focus on simplicity. However, its functionality in more complex environments is limited: the lack of advanced automation, weaker reporting and fewer customization options mean that it does not fit into the top ten of the Forbes Advisor 2026. In our opinion, a much better solution in this case is Zoho Bigin, about which below.
Zoho Bigin - the best CRM for microbusinesses
It is worth noting that the Forbes Advisor 2026 list includes not only Zoho CRM - but also Bigin by Zoho CRM, ranked #3 and rated as “Best for Teams on a Budget”. These are two different products aimed at different segments, which is often a source of confusion. The key difference between Bigin and Zoho CRM is the target segment: Bigin serves companies of 1-10 people who need pipeline management without undue complexity. Zoho CRM addresses growing businesses and larger organizations that want full sales automation, advanced analytics, and extensive integrations. It is worth adding that the transition between these products is seamless - in one click, without data migration.
In a direct comparison, for example, with Pipedrive, Bigin performs better in the most important parameters for microbusinesses: in reviews on Capterra it scores higher for value for money, ease of use and customer support. At the same time, Bigin Express is more than 5x cheaper than Pipedrive Growth, offering 50,000 records with a limit of 5,000 active leads in Pipedrive. Pipedrive has the edge in more complex automations and marketplace integrations - but for the vast majority of microbusinesses, these are features that will never be used. Or they will become the impetus for a seamless migration from Bigin to Zoho CRM.
